Monochrome vs Colour

I’ve always liked black and white movies, (or monochrome, with black the primary colour).  They can be so atmospheric, as can monochrome photographs.

Here is a colour photograph I took recently and then used Paintshop Pro 7 to convert it to greyscale (as close to monochrome as possible.

Glasgow’s Bridge of Sighs. Spanning Wishart Street, at the other end is the Glasgow Necropolis. (colour).

There is a gothic feel about the monochrome photograph, especially with the monuments of the Glasgow Necropolis plainly visible in the distance.  This will make a good backdrop for my Mr Frankfield stories, which will be posted at a much later date.

The Kelpies at Sunset

The Kelpies

The sculptor Andy Scott designed these horse-headed figures, which stand 30 metres (98 feet) tall. A kelpie is a mythical shape-shifting horse which is said to haunt rivers and streams.

These sculptures are located near the Forth & Clyde Canal and the River Carron, Falkirk, at The Helix.
